Roman Polanski still hasn't paid for his crime Dear Readers; Hi. I have been invited to be a contributor to this blog and I thank Ms. Burb for the opportunity.  That being said I'd like to address the extradition issue of Mr. Polanski. He pled guilty to the charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.  He then fled the country before he could be sentenced.  Why should he receive any consideration from anyone to avoid being extradited back to Los Angeles County to stand for the crime? Just because he's a famous director or artiste?  Is that why? Do you want to live in a society where the rule of law can be perverted that way?  Really? Tell me why. Man o' Law

And to show her likeness in anything but a positive realm now is as blasphemous as her and that Buck knife of hers years ago? Authorities in Britain, Canada, France, Israel and Thailand had been asked to detain the film-maker over the years before he was held at Zurich airport on Saturday, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office said. The release of a list of extradition attempts came in response to claims that the LA authorities had not bothered to pursue Mr Polanski after he fled the US in 1978 to escape sentencing for having unlawful sexual intercourse with an under-age girl. Well, I finally pried the $6 out of my wallet and rented the HBO documentary, "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired". It took some doing on my part. I hummed and hawed and remembered all the posters on different Manson NGs saying how ridiculous this video was and how contrived the release date was and how one-sided the case was, against this evil pedophile wanted fugitive. I thought, do I need to watch his version? Will it taint me forever, being such a fan of his 60s European films, especially "Repulsion" with Catherine Deneuve? Did I want to know stuff about this guy that would transform him in my eyes from a genius film director and Manson victim, to a lewd and lascivious prowler of unsuspecting young girls?
