Susan Atkins, aka Sadie Mae Glutz, Dead at 61

Susan At Sept. 2nd Parole Hearing Steven, Susan  & Michael in 1950s Well, Susan finally achieved the freedom she had so long sought, albeit in a pine box. Dead at 11:45 pm on September 24, 2009, at the Central Women’s Facility in Chowchilla, California, Susan is the first of the five Tate-LaBianca murderers to die. As of this publishing, there was no information given as to whether or not her husband/lawyer, James Whitehouse was with her when she passed, nor any details on the transfer of her corpse or burial details. Linda Deutsch of the Associated Press broke the news early this morning and she was a fitting reporter to do so, as it was Linda as a cub reporter who sat vigil everyday in the Hall of Justice courtroom, witnessing first hand The Family spectacle in the halls and listening everyday to the grizzly testimony given about the murders in ‘69. Susan is survived by her husband James and her two brothers Steven and Michael a...

The "Sadie" Enigma...The Final Part IV

Image
"Sadie" & Susan This is my last installment on this 1978 Parole Hearing of Susan Atkins but undoubtedly NOT the last time I endeavour to uncover the holes in Ms. Atkins "story" of the Manson murders. Despite the heinous nature of these crimes, one would think it would have been prudent to fess-up to the whole truth regarding her actions instead of constantly reshaping her story to better fit what she thought was a way of being granted parole. I know if I'd been a parole board member, the mere fact that her and her cohorts ever-changing sequence of events in the Hinman , Tate- LaBianca , and Shea murders would have been enough for me to keep their cell doors permanently locked. And from what I can tell, these half-wit murderers never figured that out... On page 95, Hearing Representative Del Pasco refers to a " chrono ", dated 4/4/78, of Ms. Atkins activities, "You [Susan] respond to authority well, require little supervision, bu...

Ms. Burb Has Made A Boo-Boo...

Image
It has been brought to my attention that I may have misspoken in my last edition of the Sadie Enigma, implying that Deane Moorehouse lived in the Main house at Cielo when in fact, he had lived in the guesthouse. This is no way changes my belief that Sadie was lying when she said she had never been to the Cielo property before, so my conclusion stands. And in my last post, "The Proof Is In The 'Putting", a comment was made that I left out discussing the Blood Map - I did NOT leave it out by accident - I left it out ON PURPOSE because it is my opinion that Granado may have mis -typed some of the blood spots at Cielo and therefore, I believe, that blood map is moot in terms of evidence gathering. Thank-you to EVERYONE who has offered their comments and corrections. Ms. Burb is but one wee chick and can goof up with the best of them! Keep'em comin '!!!

The "Sadie" Enigma...Part III

Image
On Page 62, Atkins states, "I know in my heart when I was given the death penalty...I know that is what I deserved. Anything given to me beyond a life sentence in here or short of that, to me is Divine mercy. The fact that I'm alive today is mercy, when I had no mercy for anybody and I'm being shown mercy." Well, then, that begs the question, that if Susan REALLY means what she's saying, why, oh why, does she monopolize the Parole Board's time, using countless reams of paper in official documentation of each of her hearings, and force surviving family members to relive their losses every time she gets a chance? Honestly, I'm just not sure which is worse, the initial killings of her victims, or the endless barrage of hearings, the families never able to live past the nights of August 9th and 10th, 1969. If I were monstrous enough to take such heinous actions and then really realize the damage I had caused society, I would relinquish all rights to any ...

The "Sadie" Enigma...Part II

Image
On page 37, Atkins states, "...And he and I got in a fight and all I remember is swinging with my arms and I had a knife in my hand. And I was swinging and I know I stabbed him . I don't know where I stabbed him." Will the real Sadie Mae Glutz please stand up! OMG ! In recent interviews, hearings, and in her latest book, Susan now "swears" she stabbed no one; that after she lost her knife, she just "froze" - is her word. The cop's daughter in me is screaming that Golden Rule...the Initial Statement is always the most accurate! A wholly dissimilar statement was made by Susan in the Grand Jury testimony in '69 and here in her '78 parole hearing regarding her admission to stabbing Voytek . She certainly DID stab Voytek ; there is NO denying that. What still lingers are the questions, WHEN did she stab Voytek ? and WITH WHAT? as forensic tests done on HER LOST Buck knife by the LAPD lab found no traces of blood. Soooo ...

The "Sadie" Enigma...Her 1978 Parole Hearing - Part One

Image
"Sadie" & Susan If Charlie foresaw how much paper from how many trees in how many forests have been used to type up each parole hearing, on each TLB killer, his ATWA diatribe would take on a whole new meaning! I know, you're wondering why I've decided to ruminate about the testimony of one parole hearing, given by one killer over 31 years ago. Well, it's been my experience that if you want to get at the truth in anything, you have to peel back the layers of the past, as time has a way of blurring the lines between what was fact and what was fiction. And, of all the hearings, of all the Manson Family killers, this one sticks out as a clear reflection of a woman, whose actions and choices, and their after-affects, are still reverberating, even today. In reviewing the 1978 Parole hearing of Susan Atkins, one is reminded of the danger that was "Sadie" and of the risks that still lie within Susan, and that the crev...

The Difference Between Vampires and Angels...MY Take!

Image
In Susan Atkins' latest book, "The Shattered Myth of Helter Skelter", Susan seems to have forgotten a few "details" over the years and has ceremoniously draped herself in a cocoon of innocence, or at least, is suffering from the "The Devil Made Me Do It" Syndrome. I think that's a disease everyone associated with Charlie seems to suffer. Hmmmmm.... Well, here is MY take on Susan's diatribe on Chapter 26 "The Difference Between Vampires and Angels"; see if you can spot the differences... Susan says, Linda had been with the Family for less than two months when she participated in the deaths of seven human beings. [206] [207] Manson had had over two years to threaten and pressure me. I say, Susan, you're just a slow-learner, Man; but you came around and killed eventually anyway, Good on ya Sue! Susan says, Linda had two parents, separated, and an ex-husband she could have escaped to (and eventually did). I ha...
