…not to glorify the killers but to demonstrate the utter senseless and barbaric nature of their wanton and selfish acts, that ten innocent lives were lost in a space of 24 days and nights of unimaginable horror, the world and their surviving family members pray never happens again.

Yes… A post really meant for the “What If” Department Store of Life [another store, no doubt, Charlie would have had Mary and Sandy skulk into, to buy stuff on a stolen credit card while the rest of the principal Family members sliced, diced and julienned their way into the criminal history books]. But my imagination has always fed thoughts in me that in the wee hours of many a night, when mere outsiders like us are sound asleep in our oh so safe beds, the really affected, surviving family members of this Cielo slaughter - Paul, Doris, Patti & Debra Tate - would have laid awake, utterly haunted, wondering all sorts of “Whys”. Now, I’m sure they had more detailed inside information than we do even today, as to why Sharon didn’t at least attempt an escape from that Living Room that night, and maybe, hopefully, for them, there never was any need for this particular questioning torment. I really DO hope that’s the case and that I’m wrong even in pondering this question. S

  Top to Bottom– Present Day, 1969, High School Of all the Hinman/Tate-LaBianca killers, “Tex” Watson is one of the most difficult to understand from where old MsBurb is sitting. He’s not had the traumatic childhood like Sadie, nor the self-conscious and unattractive drawbacks of Katie, nor the baseline intellect of Charlie. No, for me Tex Watson is more than just an enigma and as such has been so very difficult to study. I’m sure, if you’ve been following TLB2, you have been wondering when MsBurb would get around to old Tex, and it’s not like I’ve been avoiding the issue, it’s just been because the more I read on this man, the less I know and the more questions for which there seem no clear answers. It's been close to 40 years now and you'd think with the onslaught of the online information highway, we aficionados of all things Manson would have had all the answers to all the questions by now...and yet we don't. And while we don't, and while Charlie's killers are still breathing, I thought it might be a good time to sit down at an imaginary dais table with the entire murderous gang and ask those haunting questions possibly no one has had the courage to ask.
